Edenred, the global leader in social benefits solutions, has launched a new edition of the FOOD Barometer with the aim of finding out about the eating patterns of the working population and the trends in restaurant offerings.
65% of active Portuguese consumers believe that the Covid-19 pandemic has increased their awareness of their health and the need to eat healthier. The conclusion comes from the FOOD Barometer 2021, a study carried out as part of the “FOOD Program – Fighting Obesity through Offer and Demand”, launched in 2009 by the Edenred Group with the support of the European Union and which, in Portugal, has the Directorate-General for Health as a partner.
With this social responsibility initiative, Edenred aims to promote the health and well-being of the working population through two lines of action: on the one hand, by making company employees aware of the importance of making healthy food choices during the working day; on the other hand, by encouraging restaurants to adapt their menus to offer nutritionally balanced meals.
