FOOD Barometer 2024: 88% of Portuguese seek healthy food
21 de October, 2024
The Portuguese are increasingly concerned about eating a healthy and sustainable diet, with 88% revealing that they pay more and more attention to what they put on their plates. Health appears to be the main motivation for wanting to eat better, at a time when around half of the Portuguese indicate that they eat at least one healthy main meal a day. However, against a backdrop of rising food prices, the growth in demand for healthier and more sustainable nutrition is limited by the need to manage the family budget, and 51% say they are prepared to cut back on food.
These are some of the main conclusions of the FOOD Barometer, the study launched annually as part of the initiative of the same name.
