Idealday: Edenred mobilizes 8,500 employees to support local communities
27 de May, 2019
On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, 8,500 Edenred employees across 46 countries will support local communities during this work day to celebrate Idealday. This day is especially dedicated to solidarity and was created in 2017. The Group’s three corporate social responsibility initiatives will be put into practice: Idealpeople, which aims to improve quality of life; Idealplanet, dedicated to preserving the environment; and Idealprogress, designed to create responsible value. Also in this context, Edenred is now launching a worldwide partnership with “Le Projet Imagine”, an NGO created by Frédérique Bedos. Convinced that “inspiration drives action”, this unique NGO has chosen “journalism with hope” as its editorial line. In particular, it highlights the “Humble Heroes” of the world. The challenge is to harness the power of the media to spread the desire to act on a large scale and thus promote mass civic engagement.
A worldwide partnership that reflects the values of the Edenred Group
Edenred announces its partnership with the non-governmental organization “Le Projet Imagine”, created in 2010 by Frédérique Bedos, who was a journalist and radio and TV presenter for over 20 years. With a special consultative status granted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the NGO “Le Projet Imagine” creates inspiring audiovisual content for general audiences around the world. Once the public is aware, the NGO directs them to action through programs initiated in schools, cities, prisons and companies, with the intention of getting as many people as possible to commit to a more inclusive and sustainable world.
In addition to financial support, Edenred’s partnership with the NGO “Le Projet Imagine” will take various forms. On June 19, to celebrate Idealday, Frédérique Bedos will meet with the Group’s Brazilian team to discuss the theme of solidarity. An internal competition called “Edenred Hero” will also be organized in conjunction with the “Imagine” project in the second half of 2019. There, Edenred employees will be able to defend the merits of an association they support in a personal way and receive a donation in their name. Frédérique will also take part in various Edenred events, raising awareness among employees about the concept of “engagement”.
In Portugal, the initiative will be in collaboration with the Life and Peace Community, where several dozen employees will paint and renovate the facilities of one of the Association’s Community Houses. In 2018, 8,000 Edenred employees and partners took part in around 60 initiatives worldwide.
