1 – Taberna Belga (Braga)

Although francesinha is closely linked to the city of Porto, Taberna Belga is also one of the best-known restaurants in the north of the country to try this typical dish from Porto. Galeto is a classic in the capital, opened in 1967. It is known for being the ideal place for after-hours meals, as it closes at 3:30 every day. It has various fish and meat dishes, but also quicker options such as toasts and soups.

12 – Portugália Av. Almirante Reis (Lisbon)

Cervejaria Portugália has more than 90 years of history and the space on Av. Almirante Reis was the first for this brand, which later expanded throughout the country. The restaurant is popular for its açorda de camarão (shrimp stew) and bacalhau (codfish), but the great specialty is, of course, the famous steak with Portugália-style sauce.

13 – Noélia and Jerónimo (Cabanas de Tavira)

Located right in front of the Ria Formosa, the Noélia e Jerónimo restaurant is dedicated to regional Algarve cuisine and is an obligatory stop in the eastern Algarve.
