Make your ideas healthier!

If you’re concentrating on your work and you’re just a second away from munching on a “cookie”, “just a chocolate chip” or any other snack, wait and, before you go any further, take a moment to read this text. We all hear all the time how important it is to have a healthy diet and lifestyle, but are we aware of the influence this has on our productivity and health?
Trim… Trim…. Trim… the alarm clock goes off early in the morning and, in order to make the most of every second in bed, it’s easy to end up leaving the house in a hurry. Along the way, we’re left with the breakfast we haven’t had, the water we haven’t drunk yet and the tension that, suddenly, for someone who’s “only just woken up”, already makes our back, head and shoulders ache. What a stress! And the day has only just begun…
How often do you arrive at work tired and not wanting to tackle all the projects ahead of you? At first glance, food seems to have nothing to do with it, but the saying goes that “we are what we eat”, and aren’t we?
Remember that breakfast you left behind? That’s right, it was the first big mistake of your day and for your health. It’s said to be the most important meal, and that’s no coincidence. However, it’s not enough to eat to get the best results.
Avoiding saturated fats and sugars as soon as you wake up is essential and, instead, your plate should include protein-rich foods such as eggs, or the more usual cereals, wholemeal bread, cottage cheese or yogurt and fruit. After all, the day is already off to a good start and it’s only uphill from here.
Eating several short meals during the eight hours of work we have ahead of us is a good way to keep our bodies awake and ready for any challenges. The brain is active, but even so, when we get to the office it always feels good to have a coffee and, even better, it’s super healthy.
At lunchtime, your diet should be rich in omega-3 and foods such as salmon or walnuts always look good on the plate. On the other hand, if you opt for a soft drink or a very sweet dessert to go with it, be careful because the high levels of glucose in your blood will impair your creativity and concentration.
Eating a balanced diet is not just about the amount of calories you eat throughout the day, but also about the results you can achieve professionally. Do you feel healthier now? To achieve maximum productivity, there are even more tips we can share with you.
Remember that biscuit you were going to bite into? Opt instead for some nuts, a piece of fruit or some dark chocolate. These foods will give your brain the dose of energy it needs and help you feel more focused. How about taking advantage of lunch to start a balanced diet? For now, we suggest a healthy break sponsored by your Euroticket Refeição.
Remember, the trick is to eat well in order to think even better.
Starting from July 2023, the Euroticket Refeição benefit has been renamed Edenred Refeição.
